grief & jw's?

reading the other thread made me wonder, do jw's ever truly grieve at the loss of a loved one?

i can see in front of other jw's they feel the need to maintain the party line, but in private?

JW's grieve like everyone else, perhaps some moreso. We were taught that death is unnatural and therefore they feel that it is a true crime that the person has died. For nonwitnesses its a natural thing that leads to heaven. For the witnoid the loved one is dust and not in any good place, there is always the chance that they were secretly sinning and might not be back!

Sure, there are some zealots that applaud the "go straight to paradise ticket that it supposedly affords some" but I'd say those are rather few when it comes right down to it.

I was studying with a man, about 65, who had a massive heart attack about five minutes into the public talk. He was basically brain dead. We called 911. The meeting stopped, the chairs were all pulled away from him to give room for the rescue workers to work. They got a heart beat but he died 10 days later in the hospital when the resperator was removed. The meeting was canceled. I just wanted to post this so people don't think that just because the congregation mentioned before was run by heartless nutjobs, that all are that way.

Generalizations are just not reasonable, they are convenient when we wish to find reason to hate what has hurt us.

You have already detailed your choices. If you want family contact, (and that's not gauranteed) you will have to wait till he's reinstated and then marry and fade. If you dont believe any of it and don't care if you spend time with your family ever again, just DA yourself.

I would discuss this with your DF'd, exonerated boyfriend.

Turn the elders into the postoffice for tampering with you mail.

i will be very brief on my introduction as i need to get straight to the point.

i was raised in the 'truth' from birth.

i got baptized at 16 (elder dad hassled me) and managed to do the 'slow fade' at 18 (it helped that i moved 50 miles away from home).

I agree with AK-JEFF to a degree; Find out the paramaters that are indicated in this operation, will any of the WT allowed blood components increase his survival rate in an emergency? Read the WT that discusses what is conscience directed and make a push for any of those things the Doctor says would be helpful. SOME ONE HERE CAN DIRECT YOU TO THAT ARTICLE, QUESTION FROM READERS I BELIEVE.

Bringing apostate material into play this late in the game is just going to upset your Father. He needs peace to fight this disease, the calm heart is a healer. Dont go controversial, just help him see what big Momma the ORganization sanctions and try to see if he will go for it if necessary.

Take heart, your love for your Father will help him heal more than any wrangling over his bullshit religion at this point.

personally, i'm feeling better about things.

i don't cringe when i see a witness now.

i may still try to avoid contact with certain ones but now i feel more than ever before that jws are crackpots and whether they look down on me or not, they are the ones with the issues----not me!

i toured wallkill in the last month; the tour guide stated, in very clear terms, that the wt leadership is "sending home" many older couples and older ones, and replacing them with younger ones as they need to.

he did say it was because their experience was of more use in the field.
